Branch Manager

Department: Administrative
Location: Bartow, FL

This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's operations, including sales, customer service, and administration. The primary objective will be to drive revenue growth and profitability while ensuring exceptional service. Additionally, they will develop and implement strategic plans to expand market presence, foster client relationships, and identify new business opportunities. This role will involve collaborating with corporate headquarters to align branch objectives with company goals, as well as monitoring financial performance and adhering to budgetary targets. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential in this role, along with a deep understanding of the refractory industry and market dynamics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exhibits a customer focused entrepreneurial mindset to drive revenue by developing, executing, and managing the ongoing performance of sales strategies to exceed customer expectations, deliver forecasted growth, and penetrate new markets.
  • Works collaboratively with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to establish a culture that promotes safety through training, and documented safety procedures/audits.
  • Creates strategic solutions based on the needs of the business, based on both short- and long-term objectives, in alignment with company initiatives, and executes an action plan to increase sales and profit.
  • Consistently demonstrates accountability and leadership in managing all operational aspects of the branch including project execution, inventory and warehouse management, P/L management, continuous improvement, and the development of tools and processes to maximize the performance of the team/office.
  • Responsible for the financial management of branch including capital expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, performance and expense management, purchasing and invoicing.
  • Develop strong union relationships to attract, develop and retain top field talent, and as required engage to resolve issues including rate negotiations, grievances, etc.
  • Creates new opportunities by building engaging customer relationships, while proactively delivering accurate and timely work proposals including scope, material selections, and project estimates.
  • Work with construction manager(s) and job superintendents to ensure customer satisfaction and effective job execution, including tracking project productivities and performing cost analysis during and post project.
  • Encourages and fosters open communication with employees to promote a positive team environment and a culture of accountability to better serve our customers.
  • Works collaboratively with Human Resources to conduct annual performance reviews, on-going recruitment and retention, and manages performance of direct reports including mentoring, skills development and training.
  • Portrays themselves with the appropriate representation and integrity of the company and of the brand and demonstrates outstanding leadership skills.
  • Maintains business relationships with clients and community and understands the needs and changes of the market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction/industrial project management experience and sales experience.
  • Demonstrates the following core competencies- entrepreneurship, change leadership, negotiation and influence, business and financial acumen, operational decision making, customer orientation, driving for results, managing and measuring work, interpersonal skills and ability to positively relate and communicate with others.
  • Ability to perform material take offs and understanding of construction productivity rates.
  • Experience with Union environments.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, or similar products).
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal and presentation skills.
